Why partner with The Caring Kind Project?

The Caring Kind Project is a growing regional social impact programme connecting businesses across hospitality, leisure, culture and tourism with unpaid carers across West Yorkshire.

Together, we're creating meaningful community impact for local people - turning small contributions into moments of relief for people who are struggling.

“We don’t have much money to give, but we can give carers and their families a wonderful experience with our animals.”

Jacki Barlow, Beacon Alpacas

Being a Giving Partner is so rewarding

Giving Partners do more than donate experiences.

They become part of a regional movement supporting unpaid carers while creating a positive impact within their communities.

Partnering with The Caring Kind Project can help your organisation:

  • Introduce new audiences to your business - and encourage repeat visits and recommendations.
  • Strengthen ESG and CSR commitments - and move beyond basic compliance to deeply integrate ethical practices and social impact.
  • Deliver meaningful community impact locally - and engage staff and community in your social values and activity.
  • Demonstrate commitment to unpaid carers and community wellbeing - and be a part of something so meaningful.
  • Lower Corporation Tax bills by deducting the value of charitable donations - so anyone can give with confidence.

Lets care for those who care for others

Unpaid caring is a topic that touches every community. They care for partners, parents, children, siblings and friends, giving so much but often at great personal cost. Let's make a difference... together, we are the caring kind.

“My wife has early Alzheimers. This would give me valuable time to do things with her, which she will enjoy, while she is still able to.”

“My mum is his main carer. She lives with him and supports him 24/7 and I would love her to be able to have a little trip away which she hasn't done for years now.”

“I would love to sleep through the night and to just wake up peacefully and have a peaceful day. It’s 24/7 non-stop hell.”

“Any break without the responsibilities of caring would be all that I need to feel rested and recharged.”

“The only time off caring duty in the last 3 years was when I had a hospital stay for hysterectomy followed by recovery time.”

“I want a rest and to take time for myself and my children without any care responsibilities. Time to fill up my own cup.”

Frequently asked questions

A “break” can be anything that gives a carer time to enjoy an activity away from their caring responsibilities. This could be a hotel stay, a meal out, tickets to an event, a wellness session, or even something as simple as coffee and cake with a friend.

Primarily we work with businesses in the hospitality, leisure, tourism, and culture sectors — but any organisation that can offer meaningful experiences is welcome. If you’re not in a position to gift a break, you can still support the project by funding a break.

The beneficiaries of the project are unpaid carers living in West Yorkshire. We work with Giving Partners who operate outside of West Yorkshire and/or offer breaks outside of West Yorkshire, but the project will only make those offers available to carers living in West Yorkshire.

When a break is offered, it’s listed privately in a secure area accessed only by Carer Support Workers, employed by one of the delivery partners*. They’ll discuss the breaks offered with the carer, and when a match is made, they’ll confirm the details with you directly. We ask that you then book that carer into your own booking system and treat that carer like any other paying customer... or better!

* Delivery Partners – we work with five registered charities stationed across the West Yorkshire region. These charities give specialist information, advice, and guidance to unpaid carers and the challenges they face in their caring role.

Absolutely. We’ll provide you with a Giving Partner certificate and welcome pack you can display, and we actively encourage sharing on social media. It’s a chance to celebrate your support and reach new audiences.

The Carer Support Workers work directly with carers to understand their preferences, personal circumstances and challenges, and what truly helps them recharge. Breaks are matched thoughtfully, and we follow up with carers afterward to hear how it went — often sharing their feedback with you (with consent).

That’s not a problem – we're grateful for any support offered and understand that things can change. We simply ask, if possible, to honor any breaks that have been claimed until that point, and that we can leave the door open for future collaboration.
